Alex Lucas, veteran in the art of makeup application and design, believes in bringing out the unique qualities of each client by using his well-trained, fine artist eye. He deftly blends shadow and light to capture their individual allure. Alex embraces every opportunity to apply makeup by drawing forth the naturally precise, impeccable beauty of each face. During his years working at Fashion Week in both New York and Miami, Alex perfected the looks of countless faces.

On excursions in Japan and throughout the United States, Alex shares his knowledge, signature style and creativity as a trainer and lead makeup artist. In these roles he works in several arenas including print, television, runway and pageantry. Alex served as Key make-up artist for The Braxton Family Values, an episode of Divorce Court, the Jermaine Dupri Celebrity Fashion Show and Avalon Industries hair care trade shows. Additionally, Dept. Head for Independent film Missing Nest and TV plot Bring Out the Lady.

Numerous cosmetic brands have benefitted from Alex’s artistry. He served as Lead Trainer and International Make-up artist for NARS Cosmetics and works his magic with the cosmetic brands of Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Kevyn Aucoin, Marc Jacobs, Stila and Giorgio Armani. His recent events include AmericasMart Atlanta Fashion Shows, live appearances on television shows including Talk of Alabama in Birmingham as well as a host of private sessions for celebrity and socialite clients.

Alex has delved into show business, creating looks for clients on BET shows: Boomerang Season One, Sunday’s Best and BET Social Awards 2019. Tyler Perry Productions: Haves and Have Nots. For inspiration, Alex is influenced by legendary Hollywood glamour especially Dorothy Dandridge, Jane Russell, Lauren Bacall, Jean Harlow & Rita Hayworth as well as the timeless beauty of Diana Ross in the film “Mahogany.” Alex admires the work of fellow makeup artists Francois Nars & Kevyn Aucoin.

Disco, flowers and the sky also spur Alex’s creative impulses for some of his finest creations. Alex began his career over 25 years ago by applying his own makeup while working for five years as an on-air weatherman in his home state of Georgia.

Alex’s forthcoming book, 31 Days to a More Beautiful You, is a practical guide for clients to learn how to confidently apply their own makeup at home.

Alex offers mentoring and training to aspiring and established makeup artists. He will soon launch an exclusive program delivering comprehensive training to a select group of clients in one of a kind trade secrets from the Alex Lucas method of makeup design.
